9TY™ FOOTBALL · GUIDES
DETAILED WALKTHROUGHS
Numbered steps, gotchas worth knowing about, and quick illustrations of the key screens on your phone.
Inviting players to your squad
Prerequisites: you're an admin of the squad (creator or someone promoted via Add co-admin). Members can't send invites.
- Open the squad from your home screen (tap the squad card under Your squads).
- Tap the Roster card at the top of the squad page.
- Tap Invite (top-right of the roster screen). The invite sheet slides up.
- Tap Share link. The system share sheet opens — send via WhatsApp, iMessage, email, whatever your squad uses.
- When someone taps the link, they land on
admin.9ty-football.com/join/<token>, sign in with their email (magic link or 6-digit code), and get added to the squad automatically. They then get pushed to install the mobile app if they haven't already. - Back on your Roster screen, rank their skills 1–5 so the team auto-balancer has signal. New members show up Unrated until you set a score.

YOUR SQUAD
Gotchas
- Links can be revoked. If a link gets shared somewhere it shouldn't, open the squad settings → Invites, tap the link, and hit Revoke. Anyone who hasn't used it yet loses access; anyone already joined stays in.
- Cap on the Free plan. Squads on Free don't have a player cap, but individual players on Free can join only one squad. They'll see the “squad cap reached” screen and either need to upgrade to Player Pro (5 squads) or leave their existing squad first.
- Same email = same account. If a player already has a 9ty account under a different squad, the invite adds them to yours without creating a duplicate — their stats, cards, and MVP votes are kept per-squad but their account (subscription, display name, avatar) is shared.
Voice event capture
Prerequisites: you're logging a game on the Live tab — that means you're the squad admin or a designated scorekeeper for this game (see the Adding scorekeepers section). Voice capture uses your phone's microphone, so grant permission the first time.
- Open the game from the squad's Games list, then tap the Live tab.
- You'll see an amber mic button in the bottom-right corner. Tap and hold it. A recording indicator appears.
- Say the event in natural language. Examples:
- “Goal by Marco minute 47”
- “Assist Anna”
- “Yellow card Ben minute 62”
- “MVP vote for Sofia”
- Release the button. A confirmation card slides up showing the parsed event — player, event type, minute, team.
- Tap Confirm to save, or Edit if the parse is off. Saved events immediately appear in the live event log below and get pushed to the stats table in the background.

MIN 47 · TEAM A vs TEAM B
9TY™ · VOICE EVENT
Gotchas
- Player names need to match the roster. The parser looks for the closest match to what you said against the squad roster. Nicknames only work if you've set them in the player's profile — otherwise say the name they're registered under.
- Minute is optional. If you don't say a minute, we use the current game clock. Say it explicitly (“minute 47”) for events you missed while looking away.
- Transcription happens server-side. Audio is shipped to our Whisper endpoint for transcription — no on-device voice model. Works offline for capture (the audio queues), but the confirmation card only appears once your phone reconnects and the transcription round-trip completes.
- Voice is a shortcut, not the only path. The same events are always available via the tap-to-log buttons under each player's row on the Live tab. Use whichever is faster in the moment.
Logging stats during and after a game
Prerequisites: admin or scorekeeper for the game. Match events (goals, assists, cards, MVP votes) can be logged both during the match on the Live tab or after the final whistle via a per-player form.
During the game — Live tab
- Open the game, tap Live. You'll see two columns — one per team — with each player as a row.
- Tap the + Goal chip on a player's row to add a goal. The event goes in with the current game clock as the minute. Tap + Assist on another player to record the assist for the same goal (assists don't need to be paired — you can log one without a goal or vice versa).
- Cards: tap the 🟨 or 🟥 button on the player's row.
- Everything you tap appears immediately in the event log at the bottom. Tap any event to edit the minute, correct a typo, or delete it if you tapped the wrong player.
After the game — post-game form
- Once the final whistle is entered (either via the End game button on the Live tab or automatically 90 minutes after kickoff), the game switches to Wrap up state.
- Open the game → Stats tab. You'll see one row per player with the events you logged live pre-filled, plus editable fields for anything you missed.
- Enter the final score, adjust any per-player values (goals, assists, minutes played, cards, personal rating 1–10).
- Tap Save game. Stats are locked in and roll up into leaderboards / career stats immediately.
9TY™ · MATCH STATS
SAT 13 JUN · SPORTARENA
Gotchas
- MVP vote window closes 24h after the final whistle. Players can vote for MVP directly from the game screen while the window is open. After that the winner locks in based on the votes cast.
- Post-game edits are free-form for admins. If a scorekeeper logged a goal for the wrong player, the admin can just re-attribute it in the Stats form — no need to delete and re-log.
- Minutes played defaults to 90. If a player was subbed off, edit their Minutes played field to the actual value so per-90 stats stay accurate.
Adding scorekeepers
Prerequisites: you're the squad admin (or a co-admin) and the game exists. Scorekeepers are per-game — the players you nominate for one match don't automatically get rights for the next one.
Scorekeepers exist so the admin doesn't have to be the only person watching + logging. Any two or three players standing on the touchline can share the load.
- Open the game from the Games list (either the admin web at admin.9ty-football.com or the mobile Games tab).
- Tap the Scorekeepers row (or the ⚙ Settings gear, depending on the platform).
- You'll see the current game roster with a toggle next to each player. Flip on the ones you want. There's no cap — nominate as many as you like.
- Tap Save. Nominated players immediately get access: their Live tab unlocks and they can log events just like the admin.
SCOREKEEPERS · THIS GAME
Anyone toggled on can log events during the match.
Gotchas
- Per-game, not per-squad. If Marco is a regular scorekeeper, you nominate him each game. That's intentional — someone who can log for one match may not be at the next one, and we don't want ex-players holding on to rights.
- Scorekeepers can't change the game itself. They can log events (goals, assists, cards, ratings) but not reschedule the game, edit the location, or add/remove players from the roster. That's admin-only.
- Voice capture works for scorekeepers too — same mic button on the Live tab, same parser.
Adding co-admins to your squad
Prerequisites: you're the squad's original admin (or a promoted co-admin who has been granted the same rights). Co-admins share every admin action with you — they can schedule games, invite players, edit settings, and yes, promote further co-admins.
- Open the squad → tap the ⚙ Settings gear in the top-right of the squad home.
- Tap the Admins row. You'll see the current admin list.
- Tap + Add co-admin. Pick a squad member from the list. Only current members can be promoted; if the person isn't on your roster yet, invite them first (see Inviting players).
- Confirm. They're promoted immediately; their mobile app picks up the new role on the next screen refresh.
- To step someone down: same screen, swipe left on their row (or tap their name and pick Demote to player on web). You'll get a confirmation dialog — a co-admin can always be demoted by any other admin, so keep at least one admin in the squad at all times.

ADMINS
2 of 3 on Free · upgrade for 6
Caps
- Free plan: 2 co-admins per squad, plus the original admin (3 total).
- Admin Pro: 5 co-admins per squad, plus the original admin (6 total). Same squad, higher ceiling.
Gotchas
- Co-admins can promote further co-admins. If you give someone the co-admin role, they can add or remove other admins — including demoting you (though the original owner can't be demoted below admin). Pick people you trust.
- Removing a co-admin doesn't remove them from the squad. Demote-to-player keeps them in the roster. To fully remove, go to Roster → their row → Remove from squad.
- Payment and subscription stay with the owner. Only the original admin's Player Pro / Admin Pro subscription counts against the squad's Pro-tier caps — co-admins' personal subscriptions don't stack.
